The Essential Basics of Backgammon Strategies – Part 1

The aim of a Backgammon game is to shift your chips around the game board and get those pieces off the game board faster than your opposing player who works just as hard to attempt the same buthowever they move in the opposite direction. Winning a match in Backgammon requires both tactics and luck. How far you can shift your pieces is left to the numbers from tossing the dice, and the way you move your checkers are decided on by your overall gambling techniques. Players use a number of plans in the different stages of a match depending on your positions and opponent’s.

The Running Game Plan

The aim of the Running Game plan is to bring all your chips into your inside board and pull them off as fast as you can. This technique concentrates on the pace of advancing your pieces with absolutely no efforts to hit or stop your opponent’s pieces. The best scenario to employ this tactic is when you think you might be able to shift your own checkers a lot faster than your opposing player does: when 1) you have less pieces on the game board; 2) all your checkers have past your opponent’s chips; or 3) your opposing player does not employ the hitting or blocking tactic.

The Blocking Game Technique

The primary goal of the blocking tactic, by its title, is to stop the competitor’s checkers, temporarily, while not fretting about shifting your chips quickly. After you have created the barrier for your opponent’s movement with a few chips, you can move your other chips swiftly off the board. You really should also have a good strategy when to back off and shift the chips that you employed for blocking. The game gets interesting when your opposition uses the same blocking technique.
