The goal of a Backgammon game is to move your checkers around the game board and bear those pieces off the game board faster than your challenger who works just as hard to achieve the same buthowever they move in the opposite direction. Succeeding in a game in Backgammon requires both strategy and fortune. How far you can shift your pieces is up to the numbers from rolling a pair of dice, and just how you shift your pieces are determined by your overall playing plans. Enthusiasts use different plans in the differing stages of a match based on your positions and opponent’s.
The Running Game Strategy
The goal of the Running Game tactic is to bring all your pieces into your home board and pull them off as quickly as you can. This tactic focuses on the pace of moving your pieces with absolutely no efforts to hit or block your opponent’s checkers. The ideal scenario to use this technique is when you believe you might be able to shift your own pieces a lot faster than the opposing player does: when 1) you have a fewer pieces on the game board; 2) all your chips have past your opponent’s pieces; or 3) your opposing player does not use the hitting or blocking technique.
The Blocking Game Tactic
The primary goal of the blocking plan, by its title, is to stop your opponent’s pieces, temporarily, while not fretting about moving your chips quickly. After you have created the barrier for your opponent’s movement with a couple of chips, you can shift your other chips rapidly off the board. You will need to also have a clear plan when to extract and shift the checkers that you used for the blockade. The game gets intriguing when the opposition uses the same blocking tactic.
