As we have dicussed in the previous article, Backgammon is a game of skill and luck. The goal is to shift your pieces carefully around the board to your inside board and at the same time your opponent moves their pieces toward their home board in the opposing direction. With competing player checkers shifting in opposite directions there is going to be conflict and the requirement for particular tactics at particular instances. Here are the two final Backgammon strategies to complete your game.
The Priming Game Strategy
If the aim of the blocking tactic is to slow down the opponent to move their chips, the Priming Game tactic is to completely barricade any movement of the opponent by creating a prime – ideally 6 points in a row. The opponent’s chips will either get hit, or end up in a battered position if he/she ever tries to leave the wall. The ambush of the prime can be established anyplace between point 2 and point eleven in your board. As soon as you have successfully built the prime to prevent the movement of the opponent, the competitor doesn’t even get a chance to roll the dice, that means you move your checkers and roll the dice again. You’ll win the game for sure.
The Back Game Technique
The goals of the Back Game technique and the Blocking Game technique are very similar – to hurt your competitor’s positions in hope to better your odds of winning, but the Back Game plan utilizes alternate tactics to achieve that. The Back Game technique is frequently used when you are far behind your competitor. To play Backgammon with this technique, you have to hold 2 or more points in table, and to hit a blot (a single piece) late in the game. This plan is more challenging than others to play in Backgammon because it needs careful movement of your pieces and how the pieces are moved is partly the result of the dice roll.
