The goal of a Backgammon game is to shift your pieces around the game board and get those pieces off the board quicker than your opposing player who works harder to attempt the same buthowever they move in the opposite direction. Succeeding in a game of Backgammon requires both tactics and good luck. How far you will be able to shift your chips is left to the numbers from rolling a pair of dice, and the way you move your chips are decided on by your overall gambling tactics. Enthusiasts use a few strategies in the differing stages of a game depending on your positions and opponent’s.
The Running Game Plan
The aim of the Running Game plan is to bring all your checkers into your home board and pull them off as quick as you can. This strategy focuses on the pace of shifting your pieces with absolutely no efforts to hit or stop your opponent’s checkers. The ideal scenario to employ this tactic is when you think you might be able to shift your own chips faster than the opposition does: when 1) you have a fewer chips on the board; 2) all your checkers have past your opponent’s chips; or 3) your opponent does not use the hitting or blocking technique.
The Blocking Game Technique
The primary aim of the blocking technique, by its name, is to stop the competitor’s checkers, temporarily, while not worrying about shifting your pieces quickly. After you have created the blockage for your opponent’s movement with a couple of checkers, you can shift your other chips quickly off the board. The player should also have a clear strategy when to withdraw and move the checkers that you employed for the blockade. The game becomes intriguing when the opponent utilizes the same blocking strategy.
